Men in suits. Yes, since I work in Midtown I see hordes of them everyday. And is it just me, or wasn’t it not OK for business folks to wear brown shoes along with a black suit a few years ago? These days it seems to be accepted by everyone though. I’m not a fashion guru, but that’s my observation.
Untitled. This guy asked the cop something and seemed very pleased with the answer, as you can see. Close to Times Square, New York.
Soba. If you’re ever in New York and want good Japanese food, then pay a visit to Cocoron on Delancey St where they serve excellent Soba (buckwheat noodles). Perfect for chilly nights. Also make sure to try their deserts with green tea ice cream.
Intimate show with Goh Nakamura, Jane Lui, etc. I recently went to see a small show in New York with some very talented musicians set up in an office high up in some office building on Manhattan. It was a live webcast, streaming on Goh Nakamura’s website, who started off playing some songs while the sun was setting. His friend, the charming Jane Lui, helped out on one song and then it was time for her to perform some lovely tunes on her own. These two acts were followed by two more quite spontaneous appearances by other singer-songwriters. All in all, it was a very cozy evening with some great performances.
Matching red attire. Tourists are really dedicated to the task of taking classic I-was-here photos at Times Square, like this couple who had been shopping clothes at the same store.
Bring your umbrella. On Sunday is was raining cats and dogs in New York. It was the first really heavy and lengthy rainfall I since I came to the city.
Slow. An old man walking on Forsyth Street in Chinatown, with the obligatory white (sometimes red/orange) plastic bag.
Secret agents. Obviously there are two dudes in this photo who look highly suspicious, although one is trying to melt in a bit more with his hip, young-looking style. Maybe they were spying on each other. SoHo, New York.
Flat Camera. I’ve noticed that a lot of people are bringing iPads on trains, cafés and parks in New York, at least compared to other places I’ve been to. Therefore, this sight is becoming more common. The photo was taken in a crowded Central Park on the weekend.
